Dublin Central has a proud history of electing principled independent representatives. I am honoured to have been asked by those representatives to contest the general election to keep that independent voice! I have been an activist & campaigner for 40 years. A student leader in DCU. A Trade Union organiser in Dublin Airport. A Councillor who led the Anti-Water charges campaigns in North County Dublin.

As a TD I led from the front and took up issues before they were popular - from the reform of the gardaí as a voice of whistleblowers to the struggle for abortion rights to animal welfare. In the European Parliament I was known worldwide as a powerful anti-war and civil rights activist and as a champion of the Palestinian people in the face of EU complicity in genocide.

Life in Ireland is not easy on so many fronts. Despite unprecedented wealth in the country, a secure home is a pipe dream for many.

RENTS are out of control, the COST OF LIVING is hammering everyone, and our health system is crumbling. Our communities are run down and neglected while the rich keep getting richer. Our CLIMATE is headed for catastrophe, and Irish NEUTRALITY is under attack.

And there is a profound lack of anyone in either the media or the Dáil holding to account the people who’ve got us into this mess. This has to change!
