A very lively discussion took place at a public meeting held in the Carnegie Court in Swords last night. It was clear from the input from those in attendance that the government agenda of privatisation is what lies behind the current round of cut backs to the Home Help services.
The government are planning a cut of another 600,000 hours to the service before the end on 2012. This is on top of a cut of over 500,000 hours already made this year.

Labour and Fine Gael are prioritising bankers over the elderly and disabled!
As well as cuts, the government want to privatise the home help services.
A march and rally will be held on Saturday, the 3rd of November, to call for the immediate release of Marian Price. The Free Marian Price Dublin campaign would like to invite you to attend this rally and to add your voice to the thousands of other voices calling for her freedom. We would be very grateful if you would pass this information about the rally on to your friends, your comrades, your family and your colleagues to ensure that there’s a great crowd on the steets on the day. Marian’s case is a human rights issue and with your support and presence at the rally, we will be able to send a strong message to the British secretary of state.
Human Rights activist Monsignor Raymond Murray and Clare Daly TD will be speakers at the rally.
The Free Marian Price Campaign is a non-party political campaign and the campaign group asks every political party not to bring political material on the day. Placards, banners and posters will be provided.
If you require further information regarding the rally please contact us at email@example.com or phone 085 7355217.
