Worker's Rights

“Given the ongoing crude efforts by catering giant SSP to rid themselves of experienced bar workers for the bars in Dublin Airport they took over in February of this year I am calling on the DAA to disregard any bid that comes from that company for other bar and catering tenders in the Airport.

“Specifically there is a tendering process underway for the running of a bar in Pier D. All tendering processes overseen by the DAA require bidders to maintain the employment and conditions of staff under TUPE laws.

“In the case of SSP it took only a matter of weeks after they successfully bidded to run one of the bars in Terminal one before they began trying to getting rid of the existing bar staff. This demonstrates that they cannot be trusted to respect the pay and conditions stipulated in the tendering process.”
