Clare attempted to raise the issue of Aer Lingus/daa Pension Scheme problems with Minister Donohoe on Wednesday, but sadly the question didn’t get selected for discussion from the lottery. Even though he escaped having to answer Clare’s question on Shannon, her colleague Mick Wallace did get that chance and Minister Donohoe was forced to concede that some of his information last time round was not accurate… putting questions down pays.
Question No 30:
To ask the Minister for Transport, Tourism and Sport if he has raised issues of staff concern regarding the operation of the new daa pension scheme, and legacy issues from the Irish Airlines (General Employees) Superannuation Scheme since its cessation in any recent correspondence between him or his Department with daa officials..
– Clare Daly.
To ask the Minister for Transport, Tourism and Sport if he will revise his plans for public transport infrastructure to serve Swords and North Dublin more generally, given that a LUAS line or Bus Rapid Transit service falls short of adequately serving this area.
To ask the Minister for Transport, Tourism and Sport the number of US troops that have passed through Shannon Airport to date in 2015, including the monthly breakdown; the number of requests his Department received in 2015 from civilian aircraft to land at Shannon Airport or pass through Irish airspace while carrying munitions; the number of permits issued for both; the number of requests that were rejected; the reason for rejecting the requests for which permits were not granted; and if he will provide the breakdown of the countries from which the requests were made and the permits were granted; and if he will make a statement on the matter.
